EHC 2021

The EHC 2021 conference “Equine Ecologies and Economies” will be held March 25–26 over Zoom, hosted by the Cal Poly Pomona University Library. The program will begin at 8am Pacific Time each day. Note that the US enters Daylight Saving Time two weeks before many other countries (March 14 vs. March 28). We hope to see you there!

Registration. Register closed Tuesday, March 23rd.

Program: You may view and download the draft program using this link.

Platform. New to Zoom? To connect to the event, you will first need to download Zoom: https://zoom.us/download. If you’d like more guidance on how to join a meeting, see https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193.

Other features: Besides offering a slate of fabulous papers followed by Q&A, the conference will also include:

  • Equine History Collective Working Group. There will be a special information session to discuss the EHC’s new working group, which seeks to define the historiography of “equine and equestrian history” and to develop new standards for the emerging field.
  • Meet the Editors of the Journal Cheiron: The International Journal of Equine and Equestrian History. This is a new, biannual journal facilitating a debate in equine and equestrian studies across chronological periods and disciplines. The first issue will appear in 2021.
  • Slack Coffee Rooms. We will set up various topic-specific channels during the conference so that everyone – despite the fact that the conference is virtual – still has the chance to network and discuss a variety of equine subjects.
